My dad has always wanted to set up a blog for his passion, which is tennis. I searched for a simple setup involving Blogger / Blogspot and the iPhone and am glad to have found BlogPress Lite.

BlogPress Lite allows an iPhone user to easily post and manage multiple blogs which are set up on Blogger.com. You just need to have a Picasa account linked as well to allow posting of photos.

Have you ever been boggled by extremely long web links? Or have a friend complain that the link you sent does not work because it got mangled by the email program for being too long?

This app is for you. Squeezer takes a long URL (website link) and shrinks it and even allows you to conveniently post it to various places like Facebook and Twitter.

Squeezer is an essential tool for me when it comes to publishing AppTreats and I believe you will come to love it too!

One reason why I love my iPhone is the way it makes it easy for me to do things that would normally be tedious. An example of this would be this very blog!

I write and maintain this blog completely from my iPhone, and today’s treat and trick showcases an app that is crucial to the blogging workflow (for me).

With the new iPhone OS, we now have cut-copy-paste, but what happens when you have snippets that you frequently use and would like to save ‘cuts’ to a permanent clipboard?

Enter ClipShare. This app does just that, allowing you to save multiple cuts to a clipboard for you to use whenever needed. I use it to paste special web codes into my blog posts.

There are many such apps in the App Store, but after testing all the ones that you can download for free, I have found ClipShareLite to be my favorite and all that I need.

Using an RSS reader, it becomes easy to keep track of updates to multiple websites in a single place. For this trick, I did a quick test of the various free RSS reader apps and chose Free RSS Reader.

Just follow the steps below to learn to add website’s RSS feeds to the app.

1. Launch app

2. Add a new feed by clicking the Add button (top left-hand corner, plus sign)

3. Enter the feed’s URL. For AppTreats, just follow the screenshot below (http://www.apptreats.com/feed) and click Done

4. Congratulations! You should now have the AppTreats RSS feed. A list of unread postings should appear and you can also manually refresh the feed by clicking the Refresh button at the top right-hand corner (circular arrow)

5. Now, whenever AppTreats is updated, you will see it in Free RSS Reader. When you add more feeds, you will begin to see how beneficial it is to have all website updates listed in a single app.

Happy feed-browsing!

My dad loves to have his videos with him on the go and nothing helps him quite as much as Mac OSX tools like Wondershare Video to iPhone Converter for Mac. This software is currently available for free so do check out the guide at the link below to get it while it’s hot.

When taking photos or screenshots for AppTreats, some pics have to be rotated to landscape orientation before sending it off to the Wordpress app for publishing.

I use the free Photo Rotator for this task.
